Calling Channel

Kali ni chek post dalam bahasa Melayu... musim perayaan menjelang tiba... Aidil Fitri tak lama lagi.. terbaca satu post do blog Kak Yong yang ada menyebut sedikit tentang calling channel... so rakan2 apakah calling channel yang akan digunakan.. hari raya nanti mungkin saya mungkin akan byk travel... so seperti kata kak yong, kita mungkin akan terserempak dengan rakan2 radio yg lain di jalanan... so insyaAllah kita jumpa di frekuensi... saya akan monitor 145.500 @ mana-mana repeater yg ada @ simplek2 yang selalu digunakan dikawasan sekitar.... :)

A bit off topic from Radio stuff.. :)

All these days we have been receiving chain email saying this and that... but today i got this email below... its an email from someone that pissoff with the chain email... but some of what he is saying is a fact... here i paste the email that i receive..  

"...Hello, my name is Billy and I suffer from guilt for not forwarding 50 billion fucking chain letters sent to me by people who actually believe, if you send them on, a poor six-year-old girl in Scotland with a breast on her forehead will be able to raise enough money to have it removed before her redneck parents sell her to a travelling freak show.  

And, do you honestly believe that Bill Gates is going to give $1000 to you, and everyone to whom you send 'his' email? 

How stupid are we? 

Ooooh, looky here! If I scroll down this page and make a wish, I'll get laid by a model I just happen to run into the next day!  

What a bunch of bullshit. 

Maybe the evil chain letter leprechauns will come into my house and s*d*m*s* me in my sleep for not continuing a chain letter that was started by St Peter in 5AD and brought to this country by midget pilgrim stowaways on the Endeavour.  

F**k 'em!! 

If you're going to forward something, at least send me something mildly amusing. 

I've seen all the 'send this to 10 of your closest friends, and this poor, wretched excuse for a human being will somehow receive a nickel from some omniscient being' forwards about 90 times. I don't fucking care.  

Show a little intelligence and think about what you're actually contributing to by sending out these forwards. Chances are, it's our own unpopularity. 

The point being? 

If you get some chain letter that's threatening to leave you shagless or luckless for the rest of your life, delete it.  

If it's funny, send it on. 

Don't piss people off by making them feel guilty about a leper in  Botswana  with no teeth who has been tied to the arse of a dead elephant for 27 years and whose only salvation is the 5 cents per letter he'll receive if you forward this email.  

Now forward this to everyone you know. Otherwise, tomorrow morning your underwear will turn carnivorous and will consume your genitals.

My First Fox Hunt..

Penang ARDF Fox Hunt which held on 10 August 2008 was my first participation in 'Fox Hunting'. It was a very good experiance. Armed my self with 3 element tape measurement Yagi, an attenuator, 2 handy, a bottle of mineral water and sweats.. hehehe. There were 7 hunters that hunting that day. 5 of them from Perak Amatuer Radio Transmitter Society (PARTS) and another Penangites that is SWL Jeffri ( soon to be 9W2WOC) hehehe... detail report on the event can be view from MyARDFSport.com

As being a beginner... i manage to finish the hunt in time. However, for first time it was a quite hard to find the foxes... Running at all direction as all 3 foxes start to transmit their signal. The first Fox i manage to find was just next to me. The signal was strong even my handy that i remove the antenna also can recieve the signal. After looking around back and forth.. finally i found the first FOX.

Again looking for the second fox also very tricky. The signal coming very strong even after the attenuator is put at the max. After going through the bushes, go down the cliff even the small river.. still can't find it... later after walk abit then saw the 2nd FOX behind the tree

Finally go to the next fox. this 1 also tricky. But manage to located it after awhile just before the time is up. It was a very fun n exhausting. I will surely join for another Amatuer Radio Direction Finding - FOX Hunting...

Flag-off: 9:00 am
Venue: Meet at the car park next to Craft Batik, at Jalan Ayer Terjun.
(Our usual ARDF meeting site)
Please be there at 8:30 am for registration and briefing.

No. of foxes: 3
Mode: F3A on 144.5 Mhz
Hunt duration: 1 ~ 1.5 hrs. (To be confirmed by fox master)

My not so new rig and new antenna setup.

Salam to all readers...

Last week got my self another 1 2nd hand (condition like new) mobile rig for my base setup. At first it was intended to replace my current running rig. I thought my rig kaput already bcoz it cannot transmit on low n midlow power output. If i do so it will "Hang" like a pc which u can do anything on it. After turn it off n turn it on back then it can be use. All this while i thought i was my rig is faulty. Previously i did ask few elmers bout this. They said this is the first time they heard bout it. Then i thought it was my own modded pc power supply that causing it. Then i get myself a modded by a fren PC power supply. The problem occuring. It give me a headache. Later i bought a power supply from HS Land by the Brand Hammax and change the coax. Still got problem.

So i thought my rig is faulty n got a 2nd mobile rig. After change the rig... The problem still persist. Then i make up my mind, there is somthing wrong with the antenna. then i saw an old broom stick made from soft steel pipe. tried to bend it to make it 90° at both end. At 1 end going upward and on the other end going downward. (pic will come later). This boom will be a temporary boom. I'm getting a proper steel pipe (exhaust pipe) to make the permanent boom. Later i will joint it with a satellite dish stand to make it swingable. As for the temporary setup, now i can transmit at low power n midlow power output. now can even monitor station qso from Sungai Petani which is previously can even hear anything. I haven't fully tested the new setup. I just worked a few station on simplex with Low Power. 1 from bayan baru (5 2), 1 from permatang Binjai (5 9) n 1 Mobile station at Permatang Pauh (5 9).
