Sekadar peringatan untuk saya dan rakan2...

Padah tiada piawai Sirim

Oleh Zulfa Mohamad
zulfa@hmetro.com.my

Nak kena belajaq benda baru.

jumpa lagi...

Recent Malacca Fox Hunt

THis is from the Musang...

" Hi fellow hunters ...

The recent Malacca Fox Hunt held at "Taman Rekreasi Ayer Keroh, Malacca" was a great success!
Congratulations to the Malacca organisers, helpers and participants in making this event a reality.

To make it more exciting, new items were introduced into the local (Malacca) scene.
Like ...
1. Linear Run direction ... The "Start" and "Finish" no longer be at the same place.
2. Electronic Tagging ... Trial run using electronic tagging so that we can find out the time of arrival at each beacon.
3. Homing beacon ... This beacon transmits on separate frequency to guide hunters to the "Finish" line.
4. Staggered batch release at "Start" point.
5. Horizontal polarisation ... Use of Turnstile antennas.

Even with these introductions, we are still far from the international ARDF expectations BUT we are getting there.
We need to share our know-how, in order to further improve ARDF activities in the local scene and introduce it to
the others. ( Hope hams know how to communicate! )

Life lately...

Well lately i seldom active QSO on any repeater ot simplex. Except on 146.550 where i usually ragachew wif local ham. however still not as much as before. Nowadays being busy wif work n family, i hardly grab the mic n work any station on the VHF. well when i got a chance to take the mic n qso i will sure take that opportunity... like last weekend i did make a dx contact with a station in taiping. this is possible maybe due to the antenna that i'm using right now which is the double 5/8 bought from another local ham.

The antenna has been in my store room quite awhile... then i went to a iron workshop to make a boom n joint it wif a satellite dish holder ( ASTRO receiver dish). i havent got time to take the pic yet. later when the mood come then i will post up pic of my new antenna setup.

until then... 73 fm me de 9w2acy

Why??????

Well its all started with what happen recently. When an OT said that he's pulling the big swtich forever because of what is happening around the scene... i admit that what he said is true. but no one ever care bout it. he who's love this hobby so much have talk bout it for quite some time. but no one had paid attention. however allmost all of us (new ham) started the bobby the wrong way... but some of us lucky that found the right path and stay on it... still many are going the wrong way even though the right path is just a step forward... almost all of us that into this hobby because they got the wrong impression or the wrong information what is ham radio. even myself at first thought that ham radio is just talking with walkie talkie... them with the help of uncle google n granpa yahoo... more n more bout the truth is found. after read alot from various source i fall in love with this hobby. not because i can talk with fren using walkie talkie.. its all because the knowledge that has in it... all the fun u can have with it.. well... to the OT.. i respect to your decision. i know it is hard make the decision. i hope u'll come back to the air... i will try to call u on 40 meter after i got the ticket. when... time will tell...

Penang ARDF Event - Completed

The event has successfully completed. I was assign to be the Fox No.5 or MO5. It has been a good event eventhough only small participant but it is a quite tough to find all the fox. What's important is the friendship that has build among the crew n participant n more knowledges has been shared.

The event started at around 8.30 with the registration of participant. we the foxes we sent away earlier to our fox den n prepared the fox. i was located in the botanical garden. It as a tricky place as hunter passing by but still cant located the fox. However that place will never be a fox den again. as hunter already knew about it. in the future event new den will be choose.

Later the event finish at around 12.00p.m. with all the foxes n hunter gather at the finish line. Then I parted with the other event crew n join the foxes for a lunch. The other crew n participant went to McD fur their lunch as I n the V60 Foxes went to have our nasi n kari ikan bawal. Tok Penghulu V60 also went to pick up our Beloved elmer Pak Eshee to join us at the lunch. Thank you Pak Eshee for joining us. After had a good lunch n a good lough we then parted at around 2.00pm to our home.

Thats all from me,

You Might be Addicted to Ham Radio if…

You Might be Addicted to Ham Radio if…

1. When you look at a full moon and wonder how much antenna gain you would need.
2. When a friend gets a ride from you and remarks that you have a lot of CBs in your vehicle, it turns in to an hour long rant on how ham radio is not CB radio.
3. When someone asks for directions, you pause, wondering if long or short path would be best.
4. When you can look at a globe and be able to point to your antipode (and you know what an antipode is).
5. Your cell phone ring tone is a Morse code message of some kind.
6. You have accidentally said your Amateur Radio call sign at the end of a telephone conversation.
7. Your favorite vacation spots are always on mountain tops.
8. You notice more antennas than road signs while driving your car.
9. You have driven onto the shoulder of the road while looking at an antenna.
10. Porcupines appear to be fascinated with your car.
11. If you ever tried to figure out the operating frequency of your microwave oven.
12. When you look around your bedroom of wall to wall ham gear and ask: Why am I still single?
13. The local city council doesn't like you.
14. You think towers look pretty.
15. Your family doesn't have a clue what to get you for Christmas, even after you tell them.
16. Your HF amplifier puts out more power than the local AM radio station.
17. The wife and kids are away and the first thing that goes through your head is that no one will bother you while you call "CQ DX" a few hundred times.
18. When you pull into a donut shop and the cops there on their coffee break ask if they can see your radio setup.
19. You refer to your children as your “Harmonics”.
20. Your girlfriend or wife asks: "You're going to spend $XXXX on what???

24. Every family vacation includes a stop at a Ham radio store.
25. The first question you ask the new car dealer is: "What is the alternator’s current output"?
26. You buy a brand new car based on the radio mounting locations and antenna mounting possibilities.
27. You have tapped out Morse code on your car’s horn.
28. A lightning storm takes out a new Laptop, Plasma TV, and DVD Recorder, but all you care about is if your radios are okay.
29. Your wife has had to ride in the back seat because you had radio equipment in the front seat.
